Biography

Originally from New York, my journey took me to the University of Pittsburgh where I graduated with a BS/BA in Corporate Finance with a minor in Economics. While at Pitt I earned a commission in the US Army as an officer. I originally enlisted in the US Army in 2004 as a Combat Engineer and then became a Armor/Light Reconnaissance Officer conducting reconnaissance and field intelligence operations from 2004-2016 attaining the rank of Captain and have been in command of a unit with 210 soldiers. I have deployed to El Salvador, Afghanistan, South Korea, and throughout the Middle East and have earned Airborne jump wings and the Combat Action Badge to name a few awards.

After retiring from the US Army, I pursued a second baccalaureate degree at CSU graduating in 2019 Cum Laude with a BA in Political Science with and American Politics concentration. After sitting out for a year I returned to CSU to pursue a Masters in Political Science with concentrations in American Politics  and Political Theory supporting CSUs environmental mission. I plan on pursuing a PhD after degree completion in Spring 2023. My research areas are American legislative politics and the concept of the hyperindividual and its affects in society and politics.

First Generation Story

I am from a working class background as my father was a fisherman and carpenter and my mother who immigrated from Trinidad and Tobago was an electronics assembler and technician. Inspired by my sister who holds multiple degrees to include a PharmD and PhD, I decided to pursue an advanced education as well.
