Luciana Storelli-Castro is a distinguished alumna of the Department of Political Science. She will be giving a talk titled:

The War within the Peace: The Politics of Peace Accord Implementation in Colombia

Dr. Marcela Velasco will serve as a discussant. This talk will be the second in a series of talks to honor the legacy of Professor Robert Lawrence.

Ms. Storelli-Castro’s research agenda focuses on accountability and justice in post-conflict states in West Africa and Latin America. Her dissertation project evaluates the role of bureaucracies in the implementation of Colombia’s 2016 peace agreement between the Government of Colombia and the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia – Ejército del Pueblo (FARC-EP).

Originally from Mendoza, Argentina, Ms. Storelli-Castro graduated from CSU in 2008 with a BA in Political Science and Philosophy. She is currently a PhD student at the School of International Service, American University, in Washington DC. She holds an MA in African Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Bradford, and an MA in Ethics, Peace and Global Affairs from American University. Prior to her doctoral studies, Luciana also served as a Research Assistant at the United States Institute of Peace and as a Rotary Peace Fellow.
