Pre-Law Path
Thinking about law school? CSU's Pre-Law Path provides the guidance, experiences, and community to help you prepare for the next step. Students benefit from personalized advising, an active Pre-Law Club, internship opportunities, and resources designed to support exploration of legal careers and the law school application process. Law schools do not require a specific major for admission—students pursue a wide range of academic backgrounds, with Political Science, History, English, and Sociology among the most common. A key part of the program is the Legal Studies Minor, which explores legal systems, public policy, and the role of law in society.
Pre-Law Advisor
Gina Robinson, J.D., serves as CSU's Pre-Law Advisor and is available to help students explore legal careers, prepare for law school, and navigate the application process. Students interested in pursuing law are encouraged to connect with her as early as the end of their first year to begin planning their path.

Student Organizations & Community
Whatever your interests are now, or whatever new ones you discover once on campus, our political science clubs offer a great way to connect with your peers and build the connections and expertise to make the most of your time at CSU.
Pre-law Club
Connect with a community of students who share your interest in law and the legal profession. The Pre-Law Club offers opportunities to explore legal careers, prepare for the law school application process, and learn more about the LSAT through workshops, guest speakers, networking events, and internship connections. Members regularly meet with attorneys, judges, law students, and admissions representatives while building relationships with peers pursuing similar goals.
To join the mailing list, contact the Pre-Law Club president through RamLink. Follow @CSUprelawclub on Instagram to learn more about the student organization.
Model UN Club
Model UN is a club where students roleplay as various states or people in a committee. These committees can range from climate change discussions to a simulation of 15th-century politics and involve debate, communication, and writing skills.
Follow Model UN on Instagram @csumun to learn more about getting involved with Model UN at CSU.
VIDA: Learning Community
VIDA is a first‑year Residential Learning Community that helps students build community, explore interests, and connect those interests to academics and careers. Open to Liberal Arts majors and Exploratory Studies students in select tracks, VIDA offers peer support, faculty engagement, and interactive events in Parmelee Hall’s suite-style environment.
Scholarships
Political Science students can access a variety of scholarship opportunities made possible through the generosity of alumni, faculty, and friends of the department. These awards support students pursuing academic excellence, leadership, public service, and career preparation in law, government, and public affairs. In addition to department-specific awards, students can also explore a wide range of scholarship opportunities offered through the College of Liberal Arts (CLA). Apply through the CSU Scholarship Application, open from October 1 to March 1 every year.
