Jessie wants to save the world. Fear not, there will be no tights, no red cape, in her fight to save the world. Instead there will be a dogmatic dedication to research, dialogue, and policy creation. This passion for environmental protection has been an integral part of Jessie’s academic and professional work. From 2011 to 2015 Jessie interned for Hewlett Packard in their environmental regulatory department. During her internship Jessie worked closely with emerging legislation experts and industry consortiums to interpret developing legislation and advocate for the company’s preferences. This included meetings, presentations, and even occasional portions codified by institutions such as the United States Environmental Protection Agency, the European Union, and the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the People's Republic of China. Upon completing her undergraduate degrees and internship at Hewlett Packard, Jessie self-funded over a year of travel. This included training for and summiting the tallest mountain in Africa, Kilimanjaro, and visiting countries as varied as Pakistan, Colombia, and Bulgaria.
