MADELINE SCHOMBURG (Ph.D., University of California, 2019). Fields: Environmental Policy; Human Ecology. Dr. Schomburg's current work focuses on the strategic use of narrative to influence policy outcomes in environmental policy issues concerning unconventional oil and gas development and national monument designations. She is broadly interested in human-environment interactions and the ways in which social networks shape those interactions, particularly in the context of environmental justice. Her scholarship has appeared in Policy Studies Journal and Economics of Energy & Environmental Policy. Courses offered include POLS 361 (U.S. Environmental Politics and Policy), POLS 380A5 (Power, Equity and Inclusion in Environmental Justice), and POLS 660 (Theories of the Policy Process).
