Fields of Study: Political Theory; International Relations
About: Elliott Schwebach has a strong interest in concepts of space and place within political theory, and is an enthusiastic reader of new materialism, actor-network-theory, speculative realism and object-oriented ontology, which all re-think the autonomy and character of the object world in unique and interesting ways. He is also drawn to aesthetic theory, and to creativity and art as intrinsically political means of social negotiation. Within other subject areas, Elliott has researched democracy movements in the Middle East, Middle Eastern and international security, international relations theory, and the Western Sahara Conflict. In his time with the department, Elliott has been grateful to learn from such wonderful professors, classmates, and friends.
