Carmody Leerssen is an Academic Support Coordinator for the College of Liberal Arts and primarily works with Political Science majors. Carmody earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Master of Arts degree in Rhetoric and Composition both from Colorado State University. As a student, Carmody worked in the Writing Center, served on the Adult Learner and Veteran Services advisory board, was president of Students for Holocaust Awareness, and was inducted into the Pinnacle Honor Society. Following graduation, Carmody taught writing and literature courses at CSU. Carmody is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Higher Education and Student Affairs Leadership at the University of Northern Colorado where she also serves as the vice-president for the Non-Traditional Student Association. As an Academic Support Coordinator, Carmody enjoys working with students to help them achieve their academic goals as well as find new opportunities for campus involvement. Carmody strongly believes the college experience is greatly enhanced when students become involved in the many wonderful extracurricular activities CSU offers. Outside of work and doctoral studies, Carmody enjoys writing, reading, and baking.
